Lachlan Hanrahan

Lachlan completed his Bachelor of Science (Honours) with Honours Class I in Physics at the University of Queensland in 2025. His prior research interests include Bose-Einstein condensates, laser physics, and atomic physics. During his honours degree, Lachlan joined our research team to investigate laser annealing of Josephson junctions, aiming to tune qubit frequencies on-chip. His current work focuses on improving superconducting quantum devices by investigating material interfaces and fabrication techniques to reduce dielectric loss and enhance qubit performance, including the development of low-loss aluminium-on-sapphire structures for superconducting resonators and qubits.
