Dr Alex Nguyen

Alex is a CERC postdoctoral researcher at CSIRO and a postdoc with the Superconducting Quantum Devices Lab. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics and Astrophysics with a minor in music at the University of California, Berkeley. He received a PhD in Material Science Engineering at Monash University under the supervision of Professor Julie Karel. Alex’s PhD research focused on studying electronic transport in porous topological insulators. He is skilled in a myriad of nanofabrication techniques such as electron beam lithography and electron beam deposition. Alex’s research interests include quantum materials and their applications in quantum technology. Besides doing research Alex likes to spend his time listening to show tunes, opera, and ballet.
